Increased Prize Money, Reduced Fees In 2013 Australian Superbike Championship

$75,000 in prize money will be injected into the QBE Australian Superbike Championship in 2013 and competitors will benefit from reduced entry fees across all classes of competition. International Entertainment Group (IEG) is pleased to announce the increase in prize money which will accompany various contingencies and subsidies offered to competitors who participate for full championship seasons. In addition to reduced entry fees, each competitor will receive 12 complimentary guest tickets to the Queensland Raceway and Eastern Creek events, $720 in value per competitor. 2013 class structures will be announced shortly however confirmation is available that the Prostock class will compete independently of Superbikes. There will be an option for competitors in the Prostock class to compete at three of the rounds with the Superbikes in a separate Prostock Cup title. Television coverage will be extended to the Prostock class to ensure team and personal sponsors the best possible exposure. Yarrive Konsky, Managing Director of IEG, promoters of the QBE Australian Superbike Championships, said it was imperative that all stakeholders worked together in an effort to strengthen the sport for 2013 and beyond. “The 2013 Australian Superbike Championship is important as every year has been,” said Konsky. “We have listened to riders, teams and sponsors this past season and value their input. “We feel these changes will aid in improving the Championship as a whole, and encourage the road racing community to continue to approach us with suggestions and feedback as we prepare to release further details on the 2013 season in coming weeks.” Entry fees (Standalone events, per event) Superbike – $480″ Prostock – $375″ Supersport – $400″ Superlites – $350 250 Production – $250 Supermoto S1 and S2 – $200″ Cross entry FREE Administration fees (Standalone events, per event) Prostock Series Cup – $375 (if not cross-entered, FREE with cross entry)” Friday practice – $120″ Timing transmitter – $15 each” Additional passes x 12 Free (valued at $360 per event) RACESAFE levy – $30″ Credit charge 2% *Superbike, Supersport, ProStock will receive $400 at the final round as a loyalty rebate, Superlites will receive $300.
