New IMS.com website debuts

INDIANAPOLIS, Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 – Fans of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will find a new online experience at the redesigned IMS.com.

The new website, complete with everything from ticketing services to historical information, has fully responsive design optimized for use on any device. Mobile users will no longer be directed to a mobile site but will enjoy the same experience as desktop users.

“The new IMS.com is the first step in a series of improvements to create a better digital experience for our fans. It’s important that IMS provide a platform that is flexible and delivers a consistent experience. This new digital property will allow us to showcase the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, its history, traditions and excitement for all of our fans, regardless of their device,” said C.J. O’Donnell, Chief Marketing Officer for Hulman Motorsports.

Ticketing services are enhanced for a better user flow and customer experience. The check-out process has been revised and optimized using industry standards and fans can access their ticketing accounts via social login with Facebook. Three-dimensional track maps and traffic information also is available on the new IMS.com.

Site development is now in-house at IMS, allowing for greater flexibility and cost effectiveness. The site is built on the Sitecore CMS, the same content management system as the Verizon IndyCar Series, creating a powerful platform for development and expansion with the agility to align web and digital properties with ever-changing business needs.

“Our new web platform is a big step forward for our team. Moving to the Sitecore CMS affords us much needed flexibility and allows us to leverage our talented in-house development team to create custom solutions for our unique business needs, said Rhonda Winter, Chief Information Officer for Hulman Motorsports. “Our new site focuses on embracing all of our users and ensuring that we can deliver content to them, easily, on the device of their choice. The added ability to scale our site to meet the ever growing list of events we host provides a great foundation to build upon.”
