Outlaw Racing’s Hunter Coffin crashed in Turn 14 during Saturday’s AMA Pro SuperSport Race One at Road America. The crash caused the race to be interrupted by a red flag because Coffin needed medical attention after his left foot got caught between the chain and sprocket of his Yamaha YZF-R6. The young Californian was transported via ambulance to St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where he underwent surgery last night to repair the damage to his foot, which included broken bones, severed ligaments and tendons and a deep laceration. “He was in good spirits,” Outlaw Racing Team Co-Owner Jason Paredez told Roadracingworld.com. “The surgeon seemed optimistic about the outcome.”
