Cameron Gish suffered multiple fractures to his pelvis in a nasty crash during AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport Race One Saturday at Infineon Raceway.

Gish, age 17, was fourth and racing in the six-rider lead group when he lost the front in Turn One at the start of lap five.

Gish was apparently trying to save his crash with his left knee, but Hayden Gillim was following Gish closely and crashed into Gish and his Z² Racing Yamaha in a very ugly incident.

Gillim got to his feet quickly and ran back to pit lane to prepare for the restart.

Gish was reported as being awake and alert while he was treated at the scene. He was then transported via ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he was diagnosed with multiple fractures to his pelvis, listed in “stable” condition and hospitalized overnight, according to Infineon Raceway spokesman John Cardinale.

We will provide updated information when it becomes available.
