Round 2 Vortex Masters of the Mountains

Fantastic weather, large grids and exciting racing at both the club and the pro level sums up Round 2 of the Vortex Masters of the Mountains series at Miller Motorsports Park. Sunday’s racing finished with Marcel Irnie grabbing the win in Open Superstock, his 5th win of the weekend. Irnie’s domination of the Open classes in the Masters of the Mountains series was topped off by a 4th place finish in the GEICO Motorcycles Superbike Shootout Arai Mountain Nationals.

Enjoying a boost in grid numbers from several traveling racers, the middleweight classes saw many close battles as well with Chad Swain coming out on top in the premier middleweight class, King of the Mountain GTU with Chad Lewin taking the wins in both Middleweight Superstock and Middleweight Superbike.

“Huge grids for club races, Pro Supersport and Pro Superbike events, great racing all day long and lots of fans in the stands enjoying it. What a great weekend! A lot of people put in a lot of time and effort behind the scenes to make this event happen but today made it all worth it. I couldn’t be happier with how the weekend turned out.” ~ Brad Moore, Utah Sportbike Association Vice President
