Dating back to 1977 when Paul Ritter took the SuperBike win at Infineon Raceway, the full package of AMA Pro Road Racing will once again return to this scenic and popular Nothern California racetrack. The AMA Pro series has a long standing tradition of racing at Infineon Raceway and with the many fan friendly activities on offer during the West Coast Moto Jam, fans will once again enjoy a full slate of exciting activities on and off the track. “We couldn’t be happier about returning to Infineon Raceway, this track is a first class facility for our competitors, fans and also our officials who enjoy the exceptional support of the wonderful people at Infineon Raceway,” said AMA Pro Chief Operating Officer David Atlas. Headlined by the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike series, also returning will be a full complement of AMA Pro Road Racing competition including the Daytona SportBike series, the SuperSport Young Gun and Top Gun series along with the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series for the big twin specially modified Harley-Davidson XR1200s. Last year’s event saw Josh Hayes take a pair of wins as well as the historic first by Elena Myers as she took the first AMA Pro Road Racing win for a female in the 76 year history of the sport during Saturday’s SuperSport race. “We have a great history of AMA Pro Racing in the Sonoma Valley and we are delighted to bring the best motorcycle road racers in the country to our facility, once again, in 2011,” said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway. “This is always one of our favorite weekends of the year.” Please visit www.infineonraceway.com for further schedule and ticket information as once again the racetrack presents a full schedule of world class motorsports events throughout the 2011 season.
