Racer Jack Pfeifer was injured Sunday during an AFM racer at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California. According to his friend Travis Ryan, “Jack was in his second race of the day at the AFM at Thunderhill. He won his first race of the day. During the second race his Aprilia died and he put his hand up. The first group behind him saw the hand and went around him, but the second group didn’t. Jack’s handlebar was clipped and he was thrown from the bike, then run over by another rider. Two other riders were injured but only one went to the hospital and the doctors said he would be fine. “Jack is at the Chico, California Enloe Medical Center, Room 192, Neuro Trama Center ICU. His arm and wrist are broken and his T4, T6 and T8 vertebrae are cracked. His T5 is crushed. He has no spinal cord injury and he has feeling in his feet and hands; at first he didn’t but now he does. “We are going to try and get Jack back to Las Vegas ASAP so he can see an associate of Dr. Paul Canale, Jack’s former sponsor who is now a spine surgeon in Alabama, ~http://www.spineuniverse.com/mdpage.php?doctorID=3228~ Dr. Canale said Jack is extremely lucky it’s not worse and that he has some feeling. “I have set up a website where Jack’s friends, fans and family can e-mail him, it’s [email protected]. Jack is very much an e-mail reader and anything will help him recover.”
