Reigning 125cc National Champion Patrick P.J. Jacobsen and Canadian Eddy Brunet won the USGPRU Eastern Regional races Monday at Summit Point Raceway, in Summit Point, West Virginia. Celtic Racing’s Jacobsen, 13, came from behind to pass Veloce Racing’s Nobi Iso on the last lap to win the 40-rider 125cc race. Iso finished second on his Aprilia RS125R, while Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup competitor Kris Turner finished third on his Turner Cycles Honda RS125. Armour Bodies/Celtic Racing’s Eddy Brunet, 47, held off a determined challenge from pole-sitter Chris Pyles to win the 250cc Grand Prix by half a bikelength. Mark “Bigman” Kelly, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 250 pounds, finished third in the 23-bike event on his Celtic Racing TSR-framed Honda RS250. Defending USGPRU 250cc National Champion Alex Welsh and Todd Puckett crashed in turn one while fighting for third, causing the race to be stopped. Neither Welsh nor Puckett were able to make the restart of the race. USGPRU Eastern Regional Summit Point Raceway Summit Point, West Virginia May 28, 2007 Race Results: USGPRU 125cc: 1. Patrick P.J.
