From a press release issued by P.J. Jacobsen’s manager: Montgomery, NY (February 18, 2008)– Fourteen-year-old P.J. Jacobsen of Celtic Racing will also be supported by American Honda and the Honda Riders Club of America. With the season vast approaching, Jacobsen couldn’t be happier with the current news. A long time Honda rider in both dirt track and road racing, Jacobsen will be at ease competing on machinery he is already content with. American Honda has provided bikes as well as a support budget to help keep the motorcycles highly competitive. Jacobsen will run the USGPRU series and select WERA and CCS races in 2008. His season kicks off April 5-6 at Jennings GP, Jennings , Florida; where he holds the track record. Jacobsen charts a 2006 USGPRU Championship and finished second overall to Nobi Iso in 2007 having to miss the last round while competing in Europe. Despite the rumors floating in 2008, PJ Jacobsen will remain under the banner of Celtic Racing/American Honda in the United States, gaining momentum and training towards his goal of AMA competition.
