Loganville, GA: Young Gun Jake Morman will be racing under the Apex Race Services banner for 2012 with team owner Tim Hunt. Apex Race Services will be traveling to the AMA Rounds in style thanks to long-time sponsor Rich DuBarton with the use of his rig and race setup. Jake will be competing in the AMA SuperSport class aboard his brand new Yamaha R6. Team owner Tim Hunt and Morman have come together to challenge for the Championship. “I have had the good fortune of watching and working with Jake for a couple of years now,” says Hunt. “The kid has real talent. I have been looking for an opportunity to work more closely with him, and this season the pieces just all fell into place. We are building a great team around Jake this season, and I am confident that this will be his breakout year. All he has needed is a good program and some support, and we plan to give that to him.” Morman, who received the generous gift of the new bike from family friends and local supporters, Ron & Carol Butler, is extremely excited to put it on the track and prove himself worthy. “We have been impressed with Jake’s racing skill, his dedication and drive, and his fierce determination to ‘get back on the bike’ after his crash at Daytona last year,” said Carol Butler. Ron Butler added “We’re really excited for Jake as he looks forward to racing this year and wish him tremendous success. He certainly has the talent for a great year in 2012, and we can’t wait to see him race on that new bike.” Jake will retain his current sponsorships with The Schwantz School, HFD1 Motorsports as his official motor builder, Arai Helmets, Superbike Chassis, Motul USA, Hotbodies, Vortex, Alien Motion, and helmet/clothing company Pant Saggin Dezigns. Morman has also secured two new sponsors, HEROIC RACING APPAREL and Impact Safe-T Armor. “I’m super excited about these two new partnerships. To have the protection from Impact Armor while I’m racing is great,” says Jake. “I’m stoked about the leathers for this year; Todd from HRA really hooked me up. The quality of HRA suits is amazing and I can’t wait to make them proud.” “It’s pretty easy to spot the hero in the paddock,” said Todd McNabey, of HEROIC. “You watch how long the trail of followers are behind him. I was down at the GNF last year to support my WERA guys and I noticed this kid walking the paddock with a trail of kids following him everywhere he went. I asked my buddy, ‘Who is that kid?’ He responded, ‘Jake ‘the Squirrel’ Morman; he’s going to be a hit.’ I always say, whether the racer is first place or last, if he/she can make a positive impression on those around them, then this is the kind of person I want to represent HEROIC. Well, it has come twofold, and Jake is going to be representing HEROIC this year in Supersport, and I guarantee that the trail of kids following him will get longer and longer. Good luck, Jake.” You can follow Jake’s progress this year on his Facebook Fan Page or on his Twitter account @ JakeMorman34.
