Following the recent news that Colin Edwards will lead the USA team at the Phillip Island Classic on Jan 26 to 28 2018, Team Mojo Yamaha announced that Jake Zemke will be joining Colin and the USA team. Jake will be riding a CMR FJ1300 at the event, his first classic ride.

Jake, a former AMA champion and Daytona winner said “I am really excited to be headed to Phillip Island for the Classic. I have followed the Classic for the last couple of years. When Dave asked if I would like to join them, I jumped at the chance!!”

Joining Jake on the Mojo Yamaha team, riding a CMR TZ750, will be Barrett Long who is currently running the Superbike series in Moto America. Barrett, whose father John Long was a front runner in the original match races in the 70’s and 80’s, had his first outing at the Classic last year. Barrett said “It’s such a blast riding these old bikes at Phillip Island”.

The third member of the team is owner Dave Crussell on another CMR TZ750. Dave finished 11th in the International Challenge 3 years ago and organizes the USA team. Dave said “The USA team has been competing in the event for 5 years and every year the team has gotten stronger. We have built bikes specifically for this event and we are pulling in some of the finest racers in the USA. It has taken a ton of work for many long term team members and supporters to get us to this point and we are looking forward to challenging for the pointy end of the field.”

He continued “Shortly, I think you will also see some other well-known racers announce joining the US team. The Island Classic in 2018 is going to be an incredible event!”
