Jason Aguilar Leaves Tuned Racing

In 2013, I found myself pitting next to Bryce Prince and Mike Pond during the MWGP races at Willow Springs. Both Bryce and Mike were very welcoming and very helpful as I chased after 4 class championships, and finally won 2 of them. At the end of the season, Mike asked what my plans were for the 2014 season. I told him I wanted to turn pro but did not know how that would be possible with just me and my dad. Mike said, “We should talk”. That was the beginning of a great relationship with Tuned Racing that extended through the last 3 pro seasons.

In my first AMA race in 2014, at Daytona International Speedway, I got my first front row start by qualifying 3rd the first day I ever rode there. I followed that up with my first AMA Podium, and Tuned Racing’s first AMA podium, at Road America in my second AMA race weekend. With the support of the Tuned Racing Team, that was followed by several more podium finishes over 3 seasons of AMA and MotoAmerica races.

As I begin preparations for 2017, I will be without Tuned Racing for the first time in my pro career. It will be strange, and maybe even a bit scary as I strike out on my own. I will miss not being in the pits with all my friends at Tuned Racing. But I truly appreciate all that Tuned Racing has done for me. I feel like I have grown up with Tuned Racing and they have also grown up with me. They are now one of the top teams in the paddock and have their first MotoAmerica Championship. I wish them continued success in the future.

It is time for me to continue growing on my own as I pursue the 2017 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship. Thank you Tuned Racing. Thank you Mike Pond and Bryce Prince. Thank you to all the members of Tuned Racing, past and present, and thank you to all of Tuned Racing’s fans for all of your support over the past 3 seasons.
