BRITTEN MOTORCYCLES TO BE THE STARS OF THE 11th ANNUAL BARBER VINTAGE FESTIVAL
BarberVintageMotorsportsMuseum is pleased to announce that the 11th Annual Barber Vintage Festival will be a weekend of activities that include a celebration of John Britten and the Britten Motorcycle. From October 9-11, 2015, the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, located within Barber Motorsports Park, will hold its 11th Annual Vintage Festival with the guests of honor being the Britten Motorcycles, their owners, and the John Britten family.
This year marks 20 years since the passing of John Britten (1950-1995). Earlier this year there was a tribute to John in New Zealand, which is where the Britten Motorcycle was created, on the racetrack where they were all originally tested. To extend the celebration of Britten’s life and contributions, the Barber Museum and Barber Vintage Festival will host a large gathering of Britten Motorcycles, their owners, and members of the Britten family. This is anticipated to be one of the largest ever gatherings of Britten Motorcycles – taking place at the location of the largest motorcycle collection in the world.
The Britten Motorcycles will be on display throughout the three-day weekend in the Restoration Area of the Barber Museum as well as in the Race Paddock. There will be demonstration laps on the track, with Britten owners, past Britten racers, and other notable guests riding the Britten Motorcycles. This will give festival guests a rare chance to see, hear and appreciate the uniqueness of the Britten Motorcycles in their true form. Besides the Britten Motorcycles and Britten owners, Kirsteen Britten and her family will be celebrated guests during the weekend.
On the evening of Friday, October 9th, the Barber Museum will feature An Evening with Britten, a fundraiser similar to the prior years’ Motorcycles by Moonlight event. This event will give attendees an opportunity to learn more about the motorcycles and the man behind them from members of his family.
