Orlando’s Joshua Day has so far had a tough first season in the 2012 World Supersport championship. The 2011 runner-up in the European Superstock 600 series graduated into World Supersport when he signed for the Italian Go Eleven Kawasaki squad. As the only team in the championship using the Italian manufactured FG Gubellini suspension, Day has struggled to achieve a set up that will suit his riding style. Despite this he has shown flashes of brilliance including setting the second fastest time at the official test in Aragon and was on his way to a sure top 10 finish at Brno before crashing out in the latter stage of the race. The championship now heads to Silverstone, scene of a dramatic victory for Day in 2011, and Josh is confident he can run with the top riders if he can hit a set-up allowing him to use his trademark late braking and huge corner speed.
Joshua Day:
“It’s been a pretty frustrating season so far. Despite having a good team structure and a fast bike I just can’t get comfortable enough to ride like I want and know I can. I’ve had a few crashes this year pushing through the limit of the set-up so there’s no doubt that I’m trying my hardest. Hopefully we’ll get the bike working so I can get the feel I had with last year’s bike and then we can get some solid results before the end of the season. Thanks to all my supporters who are sticking by me, I really appreciate it!”
