On The Road”¦To Road America: Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams Eastbound To Wisconsin Cypress, CA Fresh off a triumphant weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, the Yamaha U.S. Road Racing Teams will be back in action again this weekend and halfway across the country at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Elkhart Lake is a favorite stop for the Yamaha U.S Road Racing Teams. Several of the teams’ crewmembers are originally from Wisconsin, so it’s a homecoming for them. Also, Yamaha and its riders have had a lot of success on Road America’s historic 4.05-mile, 14-turn road course. MONSTER ENERGY/GRAVES/YAMAHA: HAYES & HERRIN Last year at Road America, Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha’s Josh Hayes earned his fourth pole of the season, won race one on Saturday, and finished second in race two on Sunday. In Daytona SportBike, Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha rider Josh Herrin won both race one and race two aboard his Yamaha YZF-R6. This year, Josh Herrin has joined two-time reigning AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Champion Josh Hayes aboard equally prepared crossplane-crankshaft Yamaha YZF-R1 SuperBikes, with Hayes on the #1-plated R1 and Herrin aboard the #2-plated bike. This past Monday, their #1 and #2 R1s were also 1 and 2 at the finish line as the Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha riders dominated the podium at Miller Motorsports Park. They’re hoping to repeat the same feat in both of this weekend’s races at Road America. Commenting on Road America, Josh Hayes said, “The track is like home to me. I’m really comfortable there. It’s got everything: top speed, changes in elevation, and hard braking. I like long tracks and fast tracks, and Elkhart is it.” YAMAHA EXTENDED SERVICE/GRAVES/YAMAHA: HAYDEN, BEAUBIER & GERLOFF In AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike competition, the Yamaha Extended Service/Graves/Yamaha team of Tommy Hayden, Cameron Beaubier, and Garrett Gerloff will all be at Road America. Tommy and Cameron will both be riding, and Garrett will be on hand to meet fans, sign autographs, and assist his team as he recuperates from the leg injury he sustained at Daytona. Tommy is currently second in the Daytona SportBike championship point standings, and he is one of the most experienced riders in the entire paddock. He’s completed countless laps and has been on the podium numerous times at Road America, so look for the veteran rider up front on his #8 R6. Cameron, who rides the #6 R6, has had a remarkable season so far in his first year with the Y.E.S./Graves/Yamaha. Shaking off a couple of injuries, he’s made the podium in every single race in which he’s competed this season. Like his teammates, Cameron also loves Road America and says, “It’s an awesome track. The back section feels like you’re on a road through the forest.
