From a press release issued by JiR Team Scot: Debut of JiR Team Scot’s ‘little silver arrow’ in Jerez IRTA 250cc test Once more the poor weather played a part in proceedings as the 250cc machines made their debut on the 2.748-mile Jerez circuit today. Despite the conditions, today marked the debut of Yuki with his Honda RS250RW of the JiR Team Scot squad. Like its big sister that runs in MotoGP, the Honda 250cc two-stroke looks elegant in her ‘silver dress.’ The talented Japanese rider has come from a winter of hard physical training following his recuperation from an accident and an operation on his right leg. Yutaka Hirano Crew chief, JiR Team Scot 250GP “For the team and the rider these three days will be fundamental to get the feeling of the bike and work on various suspension settings while testing as many tyres as we can. Yuki has come back, like last season, but because of the operation he had over the winter and the accident he had, he has to change his riding style, but we are sure that this will be not a problem as we know his talent. Now we have to do a lot of miles and not watch the stopwatch too much as he gets used to the bike once more. Also, we know that the weather is still unstable, so there may not be the possibility to run through all of our test programme. Today we have run only 50 minutes on-track, but the signals are very positive.” Yuki Takahashi Rider, JiR Team Scot 250GP HONDA RS250RW Best time: 7th – 1′ 48″605 “This morning the track was wet so we didn’t take the risk of going out, as we also weren’t likely to get any significant information by doing so. In the afternoon the temperature of the Tarmac was low and there were many damp patches on the track, but we decided to do a run to verify the general condition of the bike. Also, this was to help me get back my mobility on the bike and see if I’m comfortable moving around on the bike once more. I’m happy because after today’s short track outing I feel ready and the legs do not give me any problems. In this context, I have to say that the time we spent on track has been of great value and very positive although I would like the weather to be much better so that we can play-out the whole programme that we have set-up for this three day test.” Test Jerez 250GP Day 1 1) Mika Kallio KTM 1’46″369 2) Marco Simoncelli Gilera 1’46″881 3) Hiroshi Aoyama KTM 1’47″281 4) Julian Simon KTM 1’47″296 5) Alvaro Bautista Aprilia 1’47″487 7) Yuki Takahashi Honda 1’48″605
