Assen Fast, difficult and fascinating The next Round of Superbike World Championship will take place at Assen, 02-04 September. Frankie Chili, Max Neukirchner and Tatu Lauslehto/Supersport, are eager to start the engines of their Klaffi Hondas again. At Assen Nicolai Sørensen, the Scandinavian Champion Standard 600, joins the Klaffi Honda Team. He will ride a Klaffi Klaffi Honda CBR 600 RR in the Supersport race. Max Neukirchner: “žAssen is one these fast tracks I like very much. But his track is also a challenge which requests a lot of experience. Last year I finished 7th in Supersport race at Assen. This was perfect. But I had to learn in the hard way before. I crashed twice in the practice sessions. This time I hope to keep a little bit cooler in the beginning. In return I’ll open the throttle during the race. A top ten position would be great! ” Frankie Chili: “žThe last three years I was always on the podium at Assen. So this is one good reason I like the track very much. This time there is one renewed part of the race track I don’t know yet. I wonder if this will make a real difference. I’m looking forward to ride at Assen and I’ll give my all to be on the podium again. ” Tatu Lauslehto: “žI like Assen a lot. Actually, it is my favourite track. In 2004 I won my first European Championship race at Assen. I have a confident feeling for the next round. But I try always to think realistic and a position somewhere in the top ten seems possible.” Nicolai Sørensen: “This is like a wish coming true. I’ve been dreaming about being a part of a World Championship team for years, but to be team mate with Pierfrancesco Chili has not been in my wildest dreams. It will for sure not be easy to come to Assen and do a top result amongst the established World Championship riders. I cannot wait to go to Holland and jump on the Honda CBR 600 RR of Team Klaffi.” Nicolai Sørensen Date of Birth: 07.08.1974 Nationality: Danish Marital status: Lives with girlfriend Trine Hometown: Thisted, north of Denmark Hobbies: Motocross, Mountain Bike, Jogging Starting number at Assen: 67 1998 Debut race in road racing category after many years as junior motocross rider 1999 3rd Danish Championship Standard 250, 2nd Scandinavian Championship Standard 250 2000 Danish Champion 250 Racer 2001 Danish Champion 250 Racer, debut race in European Championship 250 Racer 2002 Danish Champion Supersport 600, debut race in European Championship Supersport 600 2003 4th European Championship 250 Racer, 3 wins from 3 races Danish Championship 600 2004 Scandinavian Champion Standard 600, 3rd Scandinavian Championship Supersport 600
