EDDIE KRAFT A (1000cc) SUPERSTOCK CHAMPION IN FIRST YEAR ABOARD 1000
Maumee, OH – Honda East Suzuki of Toledo’s rider Eddie Kraft won the WERA North Central A (1000cc) Superstock Championship aboard the latest Yamaha R1 in his first year transitioning to a 1000cc machine. Kraft finished the season with six wins and seventeen podiums, including both regional and national wins, increasing his championship total to 22 along the way.
Honda East’s Sales Manager Gabe Miller stated, “The new Yamaha R1 has certainly proven to be a great machine. We’re excited that Eddie gelled so well with the machine early on, as riding a big bike is no easy feat. “The goal for this season was to get comfortable on the new Yamaha R1 and put in some respectable lap times,” said Eddie. I felt we did that for the most part and I certainly learned quite a bit this season. We missed out on several races and points here and there, but our teething process on a brand new platform went better than anticipated.”
Kraft continued, “We’re not yet finished this season, but I’d like to sincerely thank Honda East and everyone who has been a part of our program this year. In starting with an all-new machine, there were hurdles at every turn – from parts, setup and various quirks in between. It’s been a great learning season and I’m looking forward to finishing out the season strong and going into next season with an improved package moving forward.”
