Winter Garden, Florida (August 26, 2008)– Celtic Racing will continue its momentum in successful finishes as the team travels to Road Atlanta for the Suzuki Superbike Showdown presented by Rockstar August 29-31. Team owner Barry Gilsenan welcomes the 1999 and 2000 AMA Formula Xtreme champion Kurtis Roberts to the team, riding under the Celtic banner. Roberts is also a past winner of the AMA 600 Supersport Championship Series. Roberts will enter both the Superstock and Superbike classes. Road Atlanta will host the 10th encore of Superbike racing. This venue is the home of the original doubleheader format. The riders will be exposed to a new track this year. A major off-season project has resulted in a dramatically different “Alternative Turn 12″ along with a new portion of track that creates additional potential passing areas, better sight lines and new viewing areas. Gilsenan notes, ” The team has really put forth the effort this year in selection of riders, adjusting well to different riding styles and track conditions. The season has really paid off to our sponsors and our success as a team. (Kenny) Noyes faired well in the last two races so to continue in this upward swing, Roberts is a great fit for us.” Celtic Racing has paired with many different riders since it’s start in 1999. Notable riders include Des Conboy, Simon Turner, Alastair Seeley, Chaz Davies, Michael Barnes and most recently Kenny Noyes. The Celtic machines have been competitive; riders have added favorable finishes to their career highlights. Celtic Racing will finish their season at the Corona AMA Superbike Finale on September 27-28 at Laguna Seca.
