KURYAKYN RACING FOR A WISH TEAM SEEKS RIDER FOR PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB Wild Fires Postpone Race, New Reschedule Date Conflicts with Indianapolis AMA Test Signorelli and the Kuryakyn Racing for a Wish Team have planned all year to race in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. As is customary, the race was scheduled around the Fourth of July originally. The tragic Waldo Canyon Fire put the Colorado Springs community in survival mode, however, and it was clear that postponing the race was the only option. The new race date has been announced and it will be held August 12th. The week leading up to that will include a Fan Fest Celebration in downtown Colorado Springs where the Kuryakyn Racing for a Wish Team will have sixty feet of display space to give fans an up close look at the motorcycles, rig, and a chance to interact with the racer. Local sponsors, Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson, Sprinter of Littleton, and UBS Financial will also be represented at the week’s events. The team will be hosting a VIP Dinner event at Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson. The team racers may also take a scenic drive up the peak in the fantastic Sprinters provided by Sprinter of LIttleton to chat with a few lucky VIP’s and see the intimidating race course. The new PPIHC date conflicts with an already planned AMA Pro test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway though. The Kuryakyn Racing for a Wish Team is committed to both the AMA Schedule as well as the PPIHC so they are now accepting applications for riders to race a special “Pikes Peak Edition” AMA Spec Harley-Davidson XR1200. The team will prepare the bike for the rider, provide two sets of tires, and transfer all of Signorelli’s entry to the chosen rider. There will be a rental fee required of the chosen rider and attending the Fan Fest Celebration will be mandatory for promotional reasons. For any racers interested in this opportunity, inquire with the Kuryakyn Racing for a Wish Team by emailing [email protected]. Also, Gerry Signorelli can be reached for questions at the team office at 719-266-2323. Tune in on Speed2.com for race coverage of the entire 2012 XR1200 season. Racing for a Wish markets sponsors’ brands in the thrilling world of motorsports. Racing for a Wish is a motorcycle road racing program that donates to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado as it supports Gerry Signorelli’s development towards becoming an internationally competitive racer. The team is currently racing in the full AMA XR1200 Pro Series.
