New Popcorn Sutton Ford Race Truck to Debut at TORC Off Road Truck Championship

In tribute to the legacy of legendary bootlegger Marvin “Popcorn” Sutton, K2M Racing and Pegram Racing have joined forces to compete in the Premier Class Pro 4 category in the Popcorn Sutton Ford Race Truck. Manned by drivers Larry Pegram and Mark Kvamme, the two-driver team will share the wheel through 5 weekends of racing in the TORC Off Road Truck Championship.

Pegram, a long time Superbike racer, is no stranger to dirt tracks, high speed, big air and the podium. With a career racing in the World Superbike and US Superbike Championships, he and Kvamme met through their love of riding dirt bikes. Kvamme, who has previously raced Premier Class trucks, as well as in the IMSA Prototype Challenge, felt he and his close friend would be a perfect fit.

Pegram will debut the new Popcorn Sutton #5 Ford Race Truck this weekend in two races at the Crandon International Off Road Raceway in Wisconsin, with Kvamme taking the wheel in races to follow.

Pegram is excited about his crossover to big trucks and teaming with Kvamme in the newly outfitted beast. “The opportunity to partner with Mark and for us to drive the Popcorn Sutton Ford Race Truck in the TORC series is an incredible opportunity. I’m excited to make the transition to the Pro 4 format, put the pedal to the metal, and help our team bring home a win.”

Kvamme shared the following about the truck’s namesake: “Popcorn Sutton was notorious throughout the South for making the “best likker ever”. He used an authentic 100-year-old recipe passed down through 3 generations”. His other pride and joy was a 1920’s Vintage Ford Pick-Up in which he could be seen driving throughout Eastern Tennessee. “Being a Ford man, I think Popcorn would have been proud to see his name featured on this incredible machine.”

The TORC series will be televised and can also be seen through live streaming feeds on the TORC website.
