Laguna Seca: on the occasion of the 8th round of the 2009 season, which will take place on 3, 4 and 5 July on the spectacular racetrack of Laguna Seca in California, GIVI is back on track with the LCR Team as Title Sponsor, customising with its own brand Randy De Puniet’s RC212VsNo 14, currently 10th in the world championship classification in the premier class. GIVI, among LCR Team most memorable past sponsors, renews its collaboration with the team managed by Lucio Cecchinello who, together with his former racing teammate and “almost” a brother Nobby Ueda, has already thrilled and pleased Mr Giuseppe Visenzi and his company in Brescia with many successes. Lucio and Nobby, in fact, have taken the brand GIVI with them on the podium for 25 times in the 125cc class, since 1994, while riding a Honda machine. In the following years, more 2-wheel talents, such as Casey Stoner, Eugene Laverty, Carlos Checa and Randy De Puniet, have contributed to increase the fame of the brand worldwide. Consequently, for its 12th year, GIVI and the LCR Team will “switch on the engine” together, driven by the great passion for the 2 wheels that Mr Visenzi has always had in his DNA. Former rider in the Motorbike Racing World Championship in the 60s in the 250cc class, he decided to start his entrepreneurial career in 1978 and, thanks to his passion, determination and commitment, GIVI (headquarters located in Flero, Brescia province) became, over a short time, a leader business in the production and marketing of motorbike accessories. In 1982, it introduces its first motorbike case, which will contribute to spread its fame around the world. Thanks to the choice and use of first hand material and state-of-the-art technologies, GIVI is synonym of Made in Italy of the highest standards addressing bikers worldwide through a network of 8 commercial branches and 50 importers that guarantee its presence in all continents. Mrs Hendrika Visenzi – GIVI Commercial Director: “The passion for races and speed gave us this initial kick. For this reason we are grateful to the racing world. And when there is the possibility to collaborate with a staff of professionals like the Team led by Lucio, we respond with the greatest pleasure. I think our presence in the MotoGP will please our customers and in general, all the motorcycling fans. We have been dealing business with the USA market for years now. Our participation in the race at Laguna Seca, as Title Sponsor, will certainly help to strengthen our brand fame overseas…”. Lucio Cecchinello LCR Team Manager: “Since the LCR Team establishment, the contribution received by GIVI has been crucial to us. We are honoured to renew in the 2009 season our collaboration with the Visenzi Family and on the occasion of next Grand Prix in the USA we hope to celebrate yet another success of Randy together with the GIVI staff an the American importers, who will experience with us the thrilling GP atmosphere”. Nobby Ueda – LCR Team former rider: “It’s a pleasure to see that after having introduced Lucio to GIVI this collaboration is still on, year after year. I’m very close to the Visenzi family for the technical and moral support they have given over the years and for having been next to me during the happiest and not-so-happy moments of my career. I’m sure that the Lacuna Seca GP will be a thrilling experience for our GIVI guests, considering that the racetrack (where I have raced in the past) is one of the most adrenaline-charged of the MotoGP”.
