Federico DITTADI (Yam YZF-R6), -18.488 More, from a press release issued by Team Pedercini: Another race day at the Misano World Circuit for team Pedercini’s riders, who took part today in the fourth round of the Italian Superbike and Superstock 1000 Championships. Due to his fantastic performance during yesterday’s second qualifying session, Aitchison lined up again today in pole position while Faccietti started from the fifth row in seventeenth position for today’s 18-lap race. After yesterday’s unlucky race, today Aitchison was eager to obtain a good result. Mark did not make the quickest of starts, entering the first corner in second position, but before the end of the first lap he was able to pass Baiocco to take the lead. Close to the end of the race, Mark lost his grip on first position due to a lack of grip in his tyres. He was forced to slow his rhythm and he closed the race in fourth position. Despite finishing the first lap in nineteenth position with a very fast pace and a lot of fearless overtaking, Fulvio Faccietti reached the fourteenth place around the mid-race point and finished in an amazing eleventh position. Superbike Sunday race : 1) Conforti (Ducati) – 2) Baiocco (Ducati) – 3) Polita (Ducati) 4) Aitchison (Kawasaki) 5) Saltarelli (Ducati) “¦”¦”¦.12) Faccietti (Kawasaki) Mark Aitchison : “Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to my team for giving me the opportunity to be here in Misano for the CIV. These races have been like a test for us, we have focused our attention toward understanding a new fork setting to see if this maybe a new direction for our bike. During the practices and qualifying I felt confident after some small setting changes, but always with new tyres. It seemed we run out of time during some sessions to really understand how our bike would react with older tyres and this has been one of our major problems in past races. Today the race was quite difficult for me as the bike was very nervous, we lost grip from the rear tyre very early and I could not maintain my lap times. It was enjoyable to lead the race, but 4th today was all I could manage with our bike. In any case these tests have been very important for us and I believe we will arrive in Brno with much more knowledge about the direction for our bike. Thank you to my technicians for all their hard work once again and thank you to the CIV organization for an enjoyable weekend”. Fulvio Faccietti : “I’m disappointed only because of my bad position on the starting grid. To start from so far back was not easy, but the bike was working well, the engine was running very well and with a good race pace I was able to reach eleventh place. For the next races I’ll try to obtain a better position on the starting grid because I know I can stay with the fastest riders. I want to thank the guys in the team who have done a great job.” After some good practice sessions and an outstanding qualifying performance (with the new lap record for the Superstock 1000 CIV in Misano : 1’37″811), Marco Bussolotti reached the pole position and a fourth place in yesterday’s Superstock 1000 race. A difficult race for Tati Mercado who finished ninth in the race and started from the fourth row in today’s 15-lap Superstock race. Not a quick start for Bussolotti from pole position. The Italian rider was fifth in the first laps but as the tyres dropped in performance he lost one position, ending the race in sixth place. Mercado started very fast, obtaining an amazing seventh place and maintaining the same position until the end of the race. After four CIV races Bussolotti is in fifth position in the Stock 1000 championship standing with 41 points, while Mercado is eleventh with 26. Superstock 1000 race : 1) Della Ceca (Ducati) 2) Canepa (Ducati) – 3) Magnoni (BMW) 4) Clementi (BMW) “¦”¦.6) Bussolotti (Kawasaki) – 7) Mercado (Kawasaki) Marco Bussolotti : “Today’s race was really very difficult because right from the first laps I suffered some chattering on the front wheel and could not ride my bike as I would have liked. Without this problem I could have stayed with the front group. I’m a little disappointed because I was unable to stay in the front group of riders, but anyway I reached the sixth place and took some good points for the championship standings.” Leandro “Tati” Mercado: “I’m satisfied with the second race of this weekend because my bike performed much better compared to the first race. I had more grip on the front tyre and after a quick start I was able to maintain a good pace and also my position. We still have some chattering problems on the front and I’m working with my technicians to find a solution. I want to thank all my crew for their great work”.
