Unique Off-Road Event Headlines Busy Weekend at Miller Motorsports Park Ultra4 American Rock Sports Challenge Makes Utah Debut TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (July 13, 2011) “” There will be a little something for everyone at Miller Motorsports Park this weekend, July 15-17, including off-road racing, sports cars, motorcycles, karting and drifting. The headline event will be the Utah debut of the Ultra4 Racing American Rock Sports Challenge, a unique off-road event that combines high-speed off-road short-course racing with rock crawling. Ultra4 Racing is a six-event championship that grew out of a legendary event called “King of the Hammers,” held annually in Johnson Valley, Calif. Combining high-speed off-roading with rock crawling, Ultra4 Racing has spawned a new breed of off-road vehicle, capable of speeds approaching 100 mph but also able to climb the most brutal rock formations. The event will utilize MMP’s new Off Road Short Course as well as its seven-acre rock-crawling course. Over 40 teams will compete on Friday and Saturday, with practice and qualifying on Friday and an elimination-style race event on Saturday. On the main track at MMP, the sports cars of the Miller Park Racing Association will compete in Round 4 of its seven-event 2011 championship on the 2.2-mile East Course, while the motorcycles of the Masters of the Mountains series will race on the 2.14-mile West Course for its fourth round of their seven-event 2011 season. Both the MPRA and Masters of the Mountains will race on both Saturday and Sunday. At the Miller Kart Center, the Speedway Karts and Quarter-Midgets series will conduct Round 4 of its 10-race 2011 season on the short-oval configuration on Saturday. Meanwhile, the locally-based Lap Battle group will hold the third round of their eight-race Time Attack Series in conjunction with the MPRA on Saturday, and an Open Track Day on Sunday. Lap Battle will also host a Drifting Day in the West Paddock on Saturday. Also on Saturday afternoon, starting at 4 pm, the Annual Summer Karting Party will take place at the Miller Kart Track.
