Daytona 200 Week: The Ultimate Destination For Bikers

Demo Rides, Displays, DAYTONA USA And Kickstand City Highlight Activities

        DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (Feb. 28, 2005) – In between watching the thrilling motorcycles tackle the twists and turns of the newly configured 2.95-mile road course at the legendary Daytona International Speedway, there will be numerous activities for bike enthusiasts to check out.

                During the March 4-12 Daytona 200 Week, “The World Center of Racing” has a wide-range of concerts scheduled in the legendary infield, more than 175 vendors and displays on property and free manufacturer demo rides.

                Kickstand City: For the first time during Daytona 200 Week, the Daytona International Speedway infield will host Kickstand City. Inside Kickstand City, which runs March 4 – March 13, the legendary facility will have top-notch entertainment, overnight accommodations and will accommodate Specialty Vehicles. Among the live entertainment on the schedule includes Montgomery Gentry, Travis Tritt, Steppenwolf, Twisted Sister, Dave Mason, Classic Rock All Stars and Crossfade.

                Demo rides: Outside Daytona International Speedway, motorcycle enthusiasts can ride the latest and greatest motorcycles with free manufacturer demo rides. Motorcycle enthusiasts can check out displays and demo rides from manufacturers such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Buell, Yamaha, Aprilia, Moto-Guzzi, BMW, Harley Davidson, Victory, Boss Hoss and Bourget Bike Works.

                Riders must hold a valid motorcycle driver’s license and DOT approved helmet in order to participate in the demo rides. The Boss Hoss demo rides open early on March 4. Metric and Import demo rides are scheduled to run March 7-March 11 and the V-Twin demo rides will run March 6-March 12. Most demo rides are open 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

                 Daytona Motorcycle Marketplace: The Speedway will also host the Daytona Motorcycle Marketplace, where bikers can find the nation’s top aftermarket parts, accessories and apparel companies in one central location in the DAYTONA USA parking lot. The Daytona Motorcycle Marketplace will be open March 7 – March 12, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

                 Other displays and Orange County Choppers: The Fan Walk, located outside Turn 4, will host displays March 4 – March 13, and Lot 1, located behind the Nextel Tower, will have displays on March 7 – March 11.

                 Among the displays located on the north side of International Speedway Blvd. at the base of the pedestrian bridge include the popular Orange County Choppers’ stars of the Discovery Channel hit “American Chopper.” The stars of the show will be signing autographs all week at the display. A combination of Rick, Campo, Vinnie and Cody will be signing autographs March 7 – March 12 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and Mikey will be signing on March 11 and March 12.

                  DAYTONA USA: DAYTONA USA, “The Official Attraction of NASCAR” located outside Turn 4 of the Speedway, will have something for both bike enthusiasts and race fans.

                  DAYTONA USA’s Pepsi IMAX Theatre, one of only four 3D IMAX Theatres in the state of Florida, shows “NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience” and “Daytona 500: The Movie” daily and visitors will be able to get up close and personal with Jeff Gordon’s 2005 Daytona 500 winning No. 24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Chevrolet in Gatorade Victory Lane.

                  Beginning March 4 and through the end of Daytona 200 Week, DAYTONA USA will welcome PB Choppers, based out of Moravia, Iowa, and their display of uniquely designed Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. choppers.
