LTD RACING: THREE-RIDER TEAM BACKED BY Y.E.S. IN 2011 Marietta, GA — LTD Racing will return for a third season in AMA Pro competition for 2011, this time backed by Yamaha Extended Services. The team dedicated to developing young talent will field a three-rider team, highlighted by a jump to the Daytona SportBike class in addition to their SuperSport assault. Huntley Nash, Tomas Puerta, and David Gaviria will race for LTD Racing in 2011. Huntley Nash will join the Daytona SportBike class after a breakthrough 2010 that saw him win three races, lead extensively in three others, and earn second place in the East point standings. Nash upped his game significantly last year to become a contender. His wins at Laguna Seca, Elkhart Lake, and Barber Motorsports Park highlighted his transformation and he finished second or third an additional 12 times. Nash finished on the podium at nine of ten AMA Pro events in 2010. The 18 year-old hopes to take that momentum into the ultra-competitive Daytona SportBike class this year. “Last year was a really good year for us,” said Nash. “We were able to be competitive and push for podiums and wins and I was able to get better as a racer. The time was right to make the switch to Daytona SportBike and it will be a tough, new challenge for us but we couldn’t be happier about it. We’re happy to have Y.E.S. on board as well as our other sponsors and partners and looking forward to getting started at Daytona.” Talented Colombian Tomas Puerta returns to LTD Racing and will compete in SuperSport East. Puerta was consistently fast in 2010, earning the top five in 10 of 12 races to earn third in SuperSport East points. This season, Puerta enters the year as a contender to take the East SuperSport crown. “I have been working hard all winter to get ready for the season and I am glad to be working with LTD Racing again. I think we are going to have a good season together.” David Gaviria will compete with LTD Racing in 2011. The Colombian came to the US to race last season and impressed as he became familiar with racing in the US. “I want to say thank you to LTD Racing for the opportunity,” said Gaviria, 25. “I’m going to give 110% for each race, and now that I know most of the tracks I can be faster than last year. Also with this team that has great bikes and mechanics, I will be more confident.” As LTD Racing has done in the past, the team will also field other riders at selected races, including Sam Nash at Daytona. Gary Medley will return as LTD’s Director of Racing. “We had a good year last year with Huntley and Joey (Pascarella) winning six races combined and Tomas and Jake (Gagne) getting on the podium. The team as a whole was able to get some good results and it is always important with young riders to keep progressing and learning more at every race.,” he said. “This year is a new challenge and we’re glad to have backing from Y.E.S.” “Huntley will race in Daytona SportBike and we think he’s ready. Since I have been working with Huntley, he’s really impressed me with his determination. There are a lot of riders who say they want to be successful pros but Huntley has continuously improved his training and honed his craft to get better. Even when he was up front last year, he kept pushing to get better and wasn’t satisfied. That’s what it takes in my opinion.” “Tomas did a good job the last two seasons and this year will be the season for him to start winning some races and challenge in the points. He’s a really talented young rider and good to work with and it’s time for him to take the next step,” said Medley. “We think he is ready.” “David is new to the team and we raced against him last year in SuperSport, so we were able to see what he could do running his own bike and learning the tracks. We’ll work hard to help get him up to speed quickly and are looking forward to seeing what he can do.” LTD Racing’s sponsors and technical partners are Yamaha, Y.E.S., Yamaha Powersports Generators, K-Tech, ESP, Vortex, K&N, Dynojet, Andrew Swenson, Graves Motorsports, Drippin’ Wet, Motul, Zero Gravity, and Galfer.
