Lucas Oil Sponsors Elena Myers Lucas Oil Company has agreed to sponsor 16-year-old Elena Myers for the balance of the 2010 AMA Pro SuperSport Series. Myers, from Discovery Bay, California, rides the #21 Suzuki GSX-R600 fielded by Richie Morris Racing (RMR) in collaboration with Team Hammer, Inc. and Roadracingworld.com Suzuki. Myers finished 4th in the most recent round in the series, held at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California last month, making her the first woman to break into the top five in an AMA Pro Road Racing event. “I’m so thrilled to have Lucas Oil come on board,” said Myers. “Their products are well known and respected throughout motorsports and it’s awesome for me to join their winning team.” Myers is racing at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia this weekend where she is hoping to make her first AMA Pro podium appearance. “Team Hammer’s John Ulrich and I are working together on what we call ‘The Elena Project’ and we’ve been diligently seeking support for Elena’s program since the beginning of the season,” said RMR owner Richie Morris. “We both feel Elena has tremendous potential to reach the upper levels of our sport. Lucas is already a supporter of my GEICO Powersports Suzuki program with rider Danny Eslick, so it was a great fit for them to step up and become involved with the Elena project. The entire line of great Lucas products for motorcycle use have greatly contributed to RMR’s on-track success and we are really looking forward to continuing that success with Elena.” “Lucas Oil has been working very hard to bring increased exposure to this part of motorsports,” said Mark Stromalla of Lucas Oil. “We are proud to support an operation like Richie Morris Racing at the AMA Pro level and to expand our exposure and support with Elena makes good business sense to all of us here at Lucas. We look forward to watching her grow in the sport along with our brand.” About Lucas Oil Products Lucas Oil Products was founded by Forrest Lucas and his wife Charlotte in 1989. Prior to that, Forrest was a truck driver and he and his wife owned a long-haul trucking fleet. They experienced firsthand the need for better lubricants and fuel treatments to maintain their own equipment. Given their personal experience in the trucking industry, Forrest and Charlotte started Lucas Oil Products with the simple philosophy of producing only the best line of lubricants and additives available anywhere. Through innovative product research and development, along with aggressive marketing programs, Lucas has established itself as the top-selling additive line in the American truck stop industry. Lucas Oil has long been involved in American motorsports through sponsorship of multiple vehicles, racing events, promotions and venues, at all levels. Seeing a need for better lubricants in motorsports, the Lucas people went to work again. The end result is a line of high-performance engine oils and gear oils that are second-to-none in the racing industry. Danny Eslick used Lucas Oil racing products to win the 2009 AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike Championship and Lucas Oil racing products have also proven themselves on NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, NARA, IHBA, WERA and ATPA tracks across the U.S. and beyond.
