Luck, Estok, Melka Take ASRA Pole Positions During Wet Qualifying Saturday Morning At Barber

Darren Luck, Dave Estok and Greg Melka earned pole positions during American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) qualifying, held in wet conditions Saturday morning at Barber Motorsports Park, in Birmingham, Alabama. Luck was fastest in Superbike qualifying with a time of 1:46.663 on his Dunlop-shod Florida Motorsports Suzuki GSX-R600. Riding his Pirelli-equipped Veatch Motorsports Buell XB-12R, Estok turned the fastest time in Thundebrike, 1:46.390. Melka topped Sportbike qualifying with a lap of 1:42.952 on his Michelin-sponsored, Kinetic Motorsports Yamaha YZF-R6. Arclight Suzuki’s Jeff Wood, the defending Champion and current points leader in the Superbike and Sportbike classes, rode conservatively during ASRA qualifying. Wood can clinch the Superbike Championship by finishing 17th or better in Sunday’s final.
