Young riders can learn skill, discipline, good sportsmanship and how to ride safely. Bring them out to what can be a great sport and experience for youngsters and the entire family! M1GP’S RACE CLASS FOR YOUTH RIDERS. THE PERFECT CHOICE. M1GP continues with the new “TERMINATOR” class – our entry level designed for ages 4-11 years. It offers much more to new youth riders than pocketbikes (without the headache and expense). It’s a wining situation for riders and parents in that the riders will learn more, and prepare better for the next phase of their riding. The bikes are affordable and much more reliable than many of the pocket bikes available, and parts are easier to get, too! ALL TERMINATOR entries will be FREE with exception of the $10.00 gate fee. This class will not require a full season membership (please details on membership for more info). NO ONLINE REGISTRATION NEEDED as this class will be free, however, parents will need to sign insurance waivers and race registration forms at the track. On race day, TERMINATOR Racers will have one full practice session, with a two short heats in the TERMINATOR class per event. Bikes eligible for this class have been chosen for easy reliability for young racers, affordability & and provide an excellent introduction to road racing as proven by young racer, Vision Hayes (#911). “There are a lot of kids on CRF50s (Honda) and TTR50s (Yamaha) (and similar bikes) that just experience riding on the dirt, but at the speeds these bikes go and since they’ve proven to perform well on the asphalt, I think these bikes are good for kids to get a taste of what road-racing is like.” — Sam Aoki (KORP CYCLE). “The Honda CRF50 is perfect bike for young kids to start on for dirt and the track. Affordable, unbreakable and allows for kids to ride in a more comfortable position than pocketbikes.” — John Hayes (Vision’s dad). BIKE DETAILS: 4-stroke(NO CLUTCH) 90cc maximum; 2-stroke(NO CLUTCH) 50cc maximum. Any small dirt bike which does not have a clutch is eligible for this race class including: CRF50,70; TTR50,70,90; PW50; JR50 etc. Bars, foot-pegs, seat & pipe mods allowed. TIRES: We have tested the stock knobby tires and have found them to have acceptable grip for this class. NOT ALLOWED: Any motorcycle with clutch including CRF50 w/after market clutch kit. SAFETY All M1GP events are staffed with corner marshals & an on-site medic. More information, please visit m1gp.us WHERE: Willow Springs in Rosamond, CA and Grange Motor Circuit in Apple Valley, CA.
