THE classic Festival of 1000 Bikes – with GP heroes Kevin Schwantz and Randy Mamola already confirmed – headlines the 2012 Mallory Park calendar of events on the 6th-8th of July with more than 20,000 spectators expected to flock to the Leicestershire circuit. The Vintage Motorcycle Club that organises the Festival of 1000 Bikes continues to improve the rider and machine line-up every year and they have been working hard to make sure the 2012 event is the biggest and best yet. Mallory Park’s own Race of the Year is scheduled for 20th and 21st of October and a phenomenal line-up is expected with the very best in club, national and international racers competing in the Open Class event as Superbikes go against Supersport and Superstock machines. After a year’s break the awesome Triumph Live event returns to Mallory Park on August 31st and September 1st. The first ever Triumph Live in 2010 was a huge success with nearly 20,000 fans of the Hinckley manufacturer visiting Mallory Park and taking part in lots of events, watching brilliant racing and even visiting the nearby Factory. Practical Performance Car’s Party in the Park on 19th May is a real treat for car loving petrol heads and one not to be missed as well. Other highlights include the Motors TV Car Races, the six round Mallory Buildbase Trophy club racing Championships, British Rallycross Championship, Thundersport GB racing, The International Sidecar Festival, Vintage Sports Car Club, Auto 66 bike racing, Classic Sports Car Club racing, Historic Sportscar Racing and the annual Plum Pudding Handicap Races on Boxing Day.
