TEXAS RIDER GABRIEL MARTINEZ-ABREGO TO RACE FIM CEV MOTO3 JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

As a beginning of a new phase in his formation program, the Italian Worldwide Race Moto3 structure has defined a 2015 race schedule for its development rider, Gabriel Martinez-Abrego.

It will be this coming 6th of September in Albacete, Spain when ‘Gabo’ will make history as the first Mexican and Texas based rider ever to race in the FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship. His participation in 2015 also includes the Jerez and Valencia double-race rounds of the Moto3 Junior Series in Spain as well as the Moto3 Italian Championship Series in Autodromo del Mugello, also a double race weekend.

Gabriel, Mexican born and Texas resident, was evaluated last February in a Moto3 test and then incorporated in March to an intense training program as Moto3 World Championship Outox Reset Drink Team development rider. His preparation includes physical training activities supervised by professional trainers and track tests in different circuits in Spain aboard an official Mahindra Moto3 bike, all cooridnated by the technical staff of the Moto3 World Championship Team.

As part of his learning process, ‘Gabo’ has been registered by the team in the MotoGP organization as part of their technical staff. His participation in some MotoGP events helps ‘Gabo’ to familiarize in the professional rider atmosphere and learn the Moto3 team’s operation in a weekend of Moto3 competition.

Jose Manuel Gomez Ruiz, team’s technical director commented on the performance of the rider and his upcoming debut:

“We are pleased with Gabo’s progress in recent months, he has significantly evolved both in his physical condition and adapting to the Moto3 bike. This new stage of his formation program will be interesting, as he will get on track with very experienced riders. We are not looking for sepecific results, his first competitions are tests where we will not force nor apply any pressure to the rider which might jeopardize his development process and our ultimate goal”.

Thus this is the beginning of an important stage for Texas rider Gabriel Martinez-Abrego where he will become the first Mexican to ever participate in a World Championship Series.
