Triumph Australia has announced that it will once again enter a team in the event now to be known as the ‘Bel Ray 6 Hour’ to be held at Phillip Island race circuit Dec 3rd-5th 2010. With the support of Aark Racing’s Andy Offer and Triumph Australia’s Technical Manager Cliff Stovall, the three rider team will endevour to relive the glory days of Triumph’s on track success with a Triumph Daytona 675 In the Supersport class. The Daytona 675 will be carefully prepped and then pushed to its limits by the teams’ three gun riders, John Chiodo, Christan Casella and Marty Craggill. After tasting success in this year’s ASBK Supersport series, Triumph is confident that they can be extremely competitive in the event and is hopeful that they can once again upset some of the bigger names as it did in the running of the 1970 event with the venerable Triumph Bonneville 650 ridden by Len Atlee and Bryan Hindle. Also pictured is Mick Hone on a 1978 T140 750 Bonneville. Bonneville pictures supplied courtesy of the 2Wheels archives.
