South African, Mathew Scholtz, To Fill In For Injured Sheridan Morais

Team Rabid Transit, powered by RSRacecraft, have signed South African front runner, Mathew Scholtz, to fill in for his fellow countryman, Sheridan Morais, for the next two MotoAmerica rounds, Road America and Barber Motorsports Park, onboard their Yamaha R1.

Due to complications from his previous successive concussions at New Jersey and VIR Morais will not compete at the next two MotoAmerica rounds. This was a joint decision made with the team and Sheridan, giving his safety and well-being first priority. Morais will be at the track this weekend to support the team while healing.

Morais made his MotoAmerica debut last year at Road America finishing the weekend on the podium for both races. His disciplined work habits, along with the ability to learn the tracks quickly, is a combination that secured him multiple podiums and a Superstock 1000 pole position start during 2015.

Mathew was Sheridan’s first choice to replace him and comes highly recommended to the team as a leading international rider.

Mathew Scholtz commented:

“I’m very excited to be a part of Team Rabid Transport and determined to make the most of this opportunity. I feel at home on the Yamaha R1 after more than a year on board the bike. Getting used to the Dunlop tires and the new circuits is going to be a challenge for me but I am confident we can do a good job. I am very eager to get out on track and see how I go against the American boys.”
