M4 EMGO Suzuki’s Geoff May broke the official track record at Roebling Road Raceway this past Sunday, March 20th. May, aboard the same Superstock-spec 2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000 he rode at Daytona, fitted with production Pirelli tires, posted a 1:12.409 en route to winning the WERA A Superstock race, beating the previous official track record of 1:12.75, which was held by Steve Grigg on a Muzzy Kawasaki. “I really wanted to break the record for the past three years,” May told Roadracingworld.com in a phone call Monday afternoon. “I started my racing career there, so it was something I really wanted. I had done a 1:12.9 there last year and I was so close. It’s cool and means a lot to me to get that (the track record).” May also won the Formula 1 and Heavyweight Solo races on his Suzuki 1000, as well as winning the Middleweight Solo and C Superstock events on a Suzuki GSX-R600, taking a total of five wins during the Suzuki-contingency-paying weekend.
