May Breaks Official Roebling Road Track Record

M4 EMGO Suzuki’s Geoff May broke the official track record at Roebling Road Raceway this past Sunday, March 20th. May, aboard the same Superstock-spec 2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000 he rode at Daytona, fitted with production Pirelli tires, posted a 1:12.409 en route to winning the WERA A Superstock race, beating the previous official track record of 1:12.75, which was held by Steve Grigg on a Muzzy Kawasaki. “I really wanted to break the record for the past three years,” May told Roadracingworld.com in a phone call Monday afternoon. “I started my racing career there, so it was something I really wanted. I had done a 1:12.9 there last year and I was so close. It’s cool and means a lot to me to get that (the track record).” May also won the Formula 1 and Heavyweight Solo races on his Suzuki 1000, as well as winning the Middleweight Solo and C Superstock events on a Suzuki GSX-R600, taking a total of five wins during the Suzuki-contingency-paying weekend.
