After earning pole position with a new qualifying lap record of 1:27.821 Sunday morning, Team M4 EMGO Suzuki’s Geoff May rode his Pirelli-shod GSX-R1000 to victory in Sunday afternoon’s six-lap CCS Unlimited Grand Prix. Second from start to finish but unable to challenge was May’s teammate Michael Barnes on another Suzuki GSX-R1000. Former AMA Pro Thunder Champion Shawn Conrad placed third on his Michelin-fitted Shambeau Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000. Young gun Jesse Janisch ran away with the Heavyweight Superbike sprint, winning by nine seconds on his Argo Cycles Suzuki GSX-R750. Baker Race Gear’s Andy Feuersthaler finished second on a Suzuki 750 by catching and passing Kawasaki ZX-6RR-mounted Brian Hall. After a big crash Saturday, Trey Yonce came back to taste victory on his Speedwerks Yamaha YZF-R6 in Middleweight Grand Prix. Kinetic Motorsports’ Greg Melka was second on a Yamaha YZF-R6, and California teen Scott Jackson finished third on a Suzuki GSX-R600.
