Road Racing Industry Council Appoints New Board of Directors Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s Gill Campbell to Lead Organization MONTEREY, Calif., February 7, 2012 At its annual meeting in Daytona Beach, Florida, the Road Racing Industry Council (RRIC) appointed its new board of directors with Gill Campbell, CEO/General Manager, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca slated as president. The Road Racing Industry Council, formed in 2009, is an association of road racing facilities, promoters and industry stakeholders. Its mission is to exchange industry-relevant information and strategies, enhance the safety of road racing, and work to promote, maintain and preserve road racing events and venues. The newly appointed board is as follows: Gill Campbell, President (Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca); Skip Barber, Vice President (Lime Rock Park); Connie Nyholm, Secretary (Virginia International Raceway); and Geoff Lee, Treasurer (Road Atlanta). “We are extremely confident about Gill leading the Road Racing Industry Council into the future,” said immediate past President George Bruggenthies. “She has been an integral part since our inception, understands the challenges facing the industry and helped develop the goals we have set for the organization.” RRIC members include; Infineon Raceway, Lime Rock Park, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Miller Motorsports Park, Mosport International Raceway, Moto1USA/M1 Entertainment, New Jersey Motorsport Park, NOLA Motorsports Park, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring International Raceway, Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and Virginia International Raceway. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was established in 1957. The world-renowned raceway has been operated since its inception by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), a not-for-profit 501c(4) corporation. Each race season, SCRAMP donates its net proceeds to the volunteer groups that help organize the races.
