McLendon Wins Another AHRMA Thruxton Race At Daytona

AHRMA Wraps Up At DIS

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., — AHRMA wrapped up their second and final day of vintage racing at historic Daytona International Speedway on Tuesday.

Beginning Wednesday, AMA takes over “The World Center of Racing” with Superbike, Flat Track and Supercross action.

 Pegram Racing/Leo Vince Ducati Team Wins AHRMA Sound of Thunder 

Team’s Joint Effort with NCR Corse a Success 

Daytona, FL, March 6, 2007 Larry Pegram of Pegram Racing/Leo Vince Ducati Team won the Sound of Thunder class on Monday, March 5, 2007 and took second on March 6, 2007 in the AHRMA Works Performance Historic Cup Roadrace Series at Daytona International Speedway. Larry competed on his Ducati NCR 749, the same bike he will race in the upcoming Daytona 200 by Honda in the Formula Xtreme class. Also riding for NCR Corse was Valter Bartolini, the official factory rider on the 2007 Millona One Shot, and Cycle World’s Nick Ienatsch on second New Blue. In the Battle of Twins class, Larry Pegram competed on the New Blue NCR Corse. In Monday’s race it was NCR’s Valter Bartolini in second place, followed by Larry Pegram in third and Nick Ienatsch in fifth. On Tuesday, March 6, 2007 Valter came in second after leading the race. Larry Pegram came in sixth, followed by Nick Ienatsch in seventh.

NCR and Ducati North America are celebrating the 30 year anniversary of Cook Neilson’s Daytona win in 1977 on a Ducati 750SS called “Old Blue” prepared by Phil Schilling. New Blue is a new limited edition model by NCR that gives homage to the Daytona winning team and bike.

“It was great to be part of this historic event. The New Blue was really fun to ride,” commented Larry.

The Millona and New Blue will be on display during the AMA events December 7-10 in the Ducati Village area in the paddock.
