Former AMA Pro, MotoAmerica and World Superbike racer Larry Pegram is a minority investor in a pharmaceutical company which has been awarded a license from the state of Ohio to cultivate medical marijuana, according to an article posted today at www.cleveland.com.

In the article, Pegram is identified as a former motorcycle racer and member of the board of directors of Pure Ohio Wellness, one of just 12 companies granted a “large cultivator license” by the state. A total of 24 cultivator licenses were awarded by the Ohio Department of Commerce, which received 185 applications.

Reached by Roadracing World, Pegram said he was a libertarian and believed in the medical use of legitimate, legal products made using marijuana.
