Memorial Service Scheduled For Larry H. Miller

SALT LAKE CITY Memorial services were announced today for Larry H. Miller, owner of Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. Miller passed away on Friday, February 20, from complications due to type 2 diabetes at the age of 64. A viewing will be held Friday, February 27, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the EnergySolutions Arena, in the VIP room, 301 West South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84101. Funeral services will also take place at the EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday, February 28 at 12 noon. Interment to immediately follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103. The public is welcome to attend all aforementioned services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Larry H. Miller Charities, for the benefit of women and children in need, 301 West South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101. MILLER The volunteers and staff of Racing 2 Save Lives are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Larry H. Miller on February 20. Since 2006, R2SL has been privileged to hold its annual track-day fundraising event at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, a tradition that will continue on July 3-5, 2009. “Mr. Miller was an enthusiastic supporter of Racing 2 Save Lives from the moment we proposed holding R2SL at Miller Motorsports Park,” said R2SL President and Executive Director Ralph Forsythe. “He graciously allowed R2SL to serve as the track’s first-ever public event when it opened in 2006, and he and his staff have always made us feel genuinely welcomed. R2SL has been honored to contribute to the Larry H. Miller Charities and is committed to continuing that legacy in Mr. Miller’s honor.” R2SL Vice President Sheila Paul added, “Though Mr. Miller’s support for R2SL was only one small example of his remarkably generous philanthropy, we honestly feel that R2SL would not have reached its current level of success without his involvement. He was truly a one-of-a-kind individual and we will always be grateful for his efforts on R2SL’s behalf.” The entire R2SL organization extends its sincere condolences to Mr. Miller’s family, friends, associates and employees. Racing 2 Save Lives is a 501(c)3 charity that operates unique track-day events for motorcyclists, with proceeds donated to deserving children?s charities in the communities where R2SL takes place. Since its founding in 2004, R2SL has donated $246,000 to charity.
