A short memorial video of Merlyn will be played and Merlyn’s wife, Marta, will present a check on behalf of the Merlyn Plumlee Memorial Scholarship to the UTI Foundation. The Merlyn Plumlee Memorial Scholarship was designed to allow deserving students to study at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and to carry on Merlyn’s philosophy of generosity, fairness and passion for the sport of motorcycle racing. Merlyn was well known as one of the top crew chiefs in the United States, mentoring some of the most prominent racers in the history of the sport. The Merlyn Plumlee Memorial Scholarship pays tribute to a remarkable man by paving the way for young men and women of similar character and outlook to thrive in the sport that he loved so much. All teams, riders and industry are welcome to attend.
