The race is going to be intense at the 8 Hours of Oschersleben between the Honda Michelin Power Research Team and the Yamaha Austria Racing Team. Both supplied by Michelin, these two teams are dominating for now, the second round of the Qtel FIM Endurance World Championship. With the average time of its three riders, William Costes, Hugo Marchand and Josep Monge, Michelin Power Research Team is credited by a 1.27’968 lap, just ahead of the Yamaha Austria Racing Team of Igor Jerman, Steve Martin and Gwen Giabbani, who signed a 1.27’995 lap. A harsh duel on the track is already scheduled for these French and Austrian permanent teams. William Costes signed the best individual lap on the Honda Michelin Power Research Team in 1.27’531. On the Kawasaki Bolliger Team Switzerland, Horst Saiger, Rico Penzkofer and Eric Mizera took the third place on this provisional starting grid with a 1.29’732 lap, ahead of the Slovak Yamaha of BK Maco Moto Racing with Dani Ribalta, Andy Melkau and Victor Carrasco in 1.29’794. After the average lap times from the first qualifying session, the following teams are also in the top 10 : Phase One Endurance, RT Racing Team, RMT 21 Racing Germany, Amadeus X-One and AM Moto Racing, despite an engine breakdown during this morning free practice. For the tenth place, Team 18 Sapeurs Pompiers comes just behind of the German Yamaha of Racing Team Hepelmann. In the Superstock class, the Suzuki Qatar Endurance Racing Team remains the fastest, ahead of Yamaha LTG 57 Zone Rouge and Endurance Moto 45. The night tests are scheduled later today from 9 to 10 pm. The second qualifying session will take place tomorrow Saturday from 1 pm.
