The 2012 schedule will be roughly the same as the previous year’s, with a few minor tweaks. “We have arrived at a schedule of events that provides our fans with an interesting variety of competition, including sports cars, stock cars, motorcycles and off-road racing,” said John Larson, General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park. “We’re just wrapping up a very successful 2011 season, and we’re looking forward to a bigger and better season in 2012. This is the earliest we have ever been able to announce our major events for an upcoming season, and we are happy to be able to offer our fans a great opportunity to purchase season tickets for a limited time at a significantly discounted rate.” The first major event of 2012 will be the seventh annual Utah Grand Prix, scheduled for the weekend of April 28-29. The headline attraction for the event will be the thundering stock cars of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, making its sixth appearance at Miller Motorsports Park. The big stock cars, driven by a fascinating mix of series veterans and up-and-coming stars of the future, are always a big hit with fans. Support races for the weekend will include the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama and Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda, with other support races to be announced in the near future. The FIM Superbike World Championship remains one of the world’s top three racing championships, with races being broadcast live over 97 television networks to 176 countries with each race being seen by 120 million viewers. The BigM Weekend will be the only appearance in the Western Hemisphere for the FIM Superbike World Championship. Support races for the weekend will be announced in the near future. The Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series returns for its third visit to MMP on June 23-24, and for the second year will race on the new Off Road Short Course that was specifically designed for them. Fans have warmly embraced the high-flying, action-packed competition offered by the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series, and the racers have been very complimentary of the new course and the enthusiastic reception offered by Utah fans.
