From a press release issued by Mojotown:

On December 22 2007, Michael Aron of Mojotown held his first fundraising event through the nonprofit organization wing of his design agency in honor of Blake Herod (an avid motorcyclist and artist seriously injured in riding accident last summer) and the AFM Air Fence Fund.

The event was a track day held at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.

The outcome: Together, we raised over $27,000 with rider entries, auction items, raffle & lunch tickets, and monetary donations. Favorable weather and a great news piece on KRON4 two nights before helped with rider turnout. The lunch was tasty, the raffle was entertaining, and the silent auction was full of friendly competition. Riders of all skill levels enjoyed a cold, but clear day of riding on the challenging Infineon Raceway.

“It was great to have an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life, and I was glad to share that with so many people,” said Michael. “I put this event together in two weeks, and at times I felt like I was doing my own version of Donald Trump’s Apprentice. I learned a lot and I’d like to do more events like this. The overwhelming show of support from volunteers and the folks who donated auction items really made the whole project worthwhile.”

A special thank you goes out to Jenah Smith and Infineon Raceway, Phill Brown and the amazing AFM Corner Workers, Michael Ernest from Pacific track Time, and Vern Glenn of KRON4 News. Thanks also to Tom, Mario, Zip, and Jason for their help with tech and safety.
