MonkeyMoto AGVSPORT LW took the overall win for the Ultra Lightweight Endurance during the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association’s (CMRA) Fourth Annual Dane Westby Classic this past Saturday, May 19, on the 11-turn, 1.8 mile counter clockwise course at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, Hallett, Oklahoma.

The morning brought in some rain and lightning, delaying the event an hour or so and with the threat of rain for the remainder of the day the Ultra Lightweight Endurance teams had to hope it would hold off until after the race, and it did.

With the rain mostly staying away the MotoMonkey AGVSPORT LW team members (Marc Edwards, Joseph Guerra, Cody Mecklenburg, Jay Newton) dominated the 6-hour Ultra Lightweight Endurance on their Pirelli-shod, Yamaha R3 finishing with a 2 lap lead over second place, Rusty Nutz Racing (Stephen Guynes, Shane Smith, Derek Thomas), aboard their Honda CBR500R with the new, to The States, Continental Tires. Lawpup Racing (Danny Dominguez, Jordan Pence, Greg Wanless), finished third, 5 laps down, on their Dunlop-shod Honda CBR500R.

Early that morning the Solo 30 Middleweight/Heavyweight grids lined up and battled to the finish in their 30-minute sprint race. Cory Burleson came out on top of the box overall and with a first in S3MW with just under a 4 second lead over Luis Gouveia who took second overall and first in S3HW and had the fastest lap of the race, running a 1.18.757. After they wrapped up, the Solo 30 Lightweight/Solo 30 500 Superstock class gridded up and Cooper McDonald took that win running the fastest lap of the race at a 1:22.676 and finishing first in S3LW on his Yamaha FZ-07R.

The morning sprint races went smoothly and brought some new names to the surface this weekend. Marc Edwards brought home two first place overall finishes aboard his Yamaha YZF-R3. His first in Ultra Lightweight GP Expert running a fastest lap of 1:26.212 and his second first place was in 500 Superstock and he ran a fast lap of 1:26.451.

Jesse Smartt ran the fastest lap of the morning with a 1:26.164 during the 500 Superstock class aboard his Pirelli-shod Kawasaki Ninja 400.

Jeff Reinke shined through this weekend running the fastest time of the Novices in the Solo 30 Middleweight Novice class turning his fast lap of a 1:22.756 aboard his Kawasaki ZX-6R with Dunlop rubber.
