Second Fastest at Daytona Tire Test Ducshop Racing wrapped up two days of testing on Jan 17 & 18 at Dunlop’s annual tire test at Daytona International Speedway with rider Emerson Connor finishing second fastest in the AMA Pro SuperSport class – a thrilling result for the team considering it was Emerson’s first time on the track and only 20 laps were turned. Riding was prohibited the first day of testing due to rain and the first half of the second day was waiting for the track to dry. The track was deemed safe around 1pm on the Tuesday and the team went straight to work making suspension adjustments, geometry changes and working with tire pressures. But most important for the team was seat time for the 16 year old former Canadian champion to get familiar with the foreign track. This was also his first time on embankment. So a surprise visit from Scott “Mr .Daytona” Russell was a welcome training lesson for Emerson who got a few minutes discussing the track with the former champion. The team will head back to Daytona mid-March for the season opener with a new Ducati 848 EVO that is currently being race prepped by Ducshop. You can follow our progress on Facebook andTwitter.
