More, from a press release issued by RBoM Racing:
As the 3-round 2017 N2/WERA 4-hour Endurance series concluded this past weekend at the scenic VIRginia International Raceway, the RBoM128 SV650 entry, ridden by SV650 endurance tank fabricator Chris Parrish and instant oatmeal aficionado Simon Buric, took the lightweight class win once again and an impressive 7th place overall finish.
The RBoM117 entry, with riders Steve Tsotsoros, Chris Bays, and Michael Copoulos, took 2nd in class for the second time this year and another 9th place overall result.
Since neither RBoM entry has ever needed to change a tire in any of the previous 4-hour rounds, a new challenge of pitcrew preparedness was implemented as green flag rear tire changes were requested…..just for fun. Old Michelin’s off, new Michelin’s on…not the fastest tire changes, but an interesting test. The Army of Darkness shouldn’t be worried…yet.
The 2017 class championship results also concluded with the RBoM128 entry taking first place honors, with the RBoM117 earning a hard fought second place after a rough start to the series. Lots of work, but good fun.
The competition in the lightweight class was tough all year and RBoM Racing would like to thank all the SV650 teams who showed up this year to test their stamina and preparedness. Of special interest was the highly anticipated Lwtracer.com entry of friend and veteran SV racer Sam Wiest, but real endurance racing was a tough lesson on bike preparation. Hopefully the grids will be even bigger in 2018.
3 for 3 in 2017, plus the inaugural win at the 2016 debut event, makes for a clean sweep of the easy prize money put up by the N2 Trackday organization and it’s generous sponsors. RBoM Racing supports the N2 mission and encourages others to come and try this “basically free if you can win” racing format.
RBoM Racing looks forward to the 2018 season.
