Jason Duplantis Racing gets two podium finishes, and sets the fastest lap at the WERA Roebling Road Raceway Event.
Pooler, GA – Jason Duplantis achieve a best result of 2nd place at the WERA Sportsman Series 600 Superbike race at Roebling Road this weekend. He then followed it up with a 3rd place finish in the 750 Superbike race and also set the fastest lap of the weekend by any middle weight machine.
The first race was the 600 Superbike race. Duplantis got a great start and lead the field down the long straight into turn one, but gave up the lead to [another rider], who made an outstanding outside pass for the lead. Jason and [the other rider] settled in and that is where they stayed. A solid 2nd place finish.
The next race of the weekend was the 750 Superbike event. Duplantis got a terrible start, and went into the first turn in last place. Two 750 riders had snuck underneath him into turn one and then ran wide, leaving Jason nowhere to go except for the rumble strip. Jason quickly gathered it up and began went to work. Making up three spots in the next two laps. He then strung together 6 fast laps, including the fastest lap of the race to finish in 3rd place just .6 seconds away from first place.
Jason Duplantis – “Overall we had a really good weekend. We set the fastest lap time of any 600 out here this weekend, I was just a little unlucky with my starts. We got a ton of new set up data and are learning more about how to go fast on the AMA Supersport setup. Mike Godin was awesome this weekend, he worked really hard to make me feel comfortable on the bike. I want to thank Millennium Technologies, KWS Motorsports, Velocity Powersports, Ballistic Performance Components, my wife Emily, and all of the sponsors for their support”.

More, from a press release issued by Sol Performance:
Rob Christman claims multiple class and overall track records at Pikes Peak International Raceway!
After securing the Track record and 3 class records at Pueblo Motorsports Park in the previous MRA round, Rob Christman had his sights on a repeat going into this past weekends races on July 19th and 20th. “Practice felt great on the track day Friday. I didn’t have any issues and everything felt good,” said Rob.
He quickly fitted his GSXR-1000 “yellow jacket” with a SC1 front and SC0 Pirelli Superbike slick tires.
“After testing at this track and finding out what works or not, those particular tires seem to give the best results for the riders who need the most out of them here at PPIR,” informs Oscar Solis from Sol Performance.
After Saturday morning practices were done, first race up for Rob was the Sol Performance / Moto Garage sponsored Formula 40.
“I don’t bother racing the other riders,” explained Rob. “I just put my head down and push for the best lap times I can!”
That worked out well for him as he claimed his first class record and the win at a time of 57.601.
“Utilizing the capabilities for the Pirelli race tire to be ran in either direction, we often ‘flip’ tires to be ran in the direction that gives our riders the best advantage possible,” said Oscar. “In this case, it paid off as Rob got this record on used tires from last round. That says something about both the tires and the rider.”
At the end of Saturday, all the MRA 30 minute endurance races are ran. Again on used tires, Rob decided to join the race to test a minor mechanical issue on his bike. In a true form of multitasking, he claimed yet another record and another win in Open Endurance with a time of 57.737.
Sunday comes around and it turns out to be a hot day! Track temperatures reached well above the 110F mark on the asphalt. Making some minor adjustments to the tires to cope with the heat seemed to return positive results in Open Superbike. Rob went out of the gate and never looked back as he stayed in first place flag to flag.
When he came back in the pits he stated, “I just beat the track record. I know it.”
That he did, by posting up a lap time of 56.870 he was able to bump off the previous record and secure his third win of the weekend.
Lastly was Race of the Rockies GTO, the MRA’s premier race. Going double the distance of regular sprint races proved to be pretty taxing on the riders especially in the scorching heat. Rob took the lead again from the start and led the whole race.
“The track definitely lost grip as the race progress and was a little difficult to push as hard as I wanted to,” Rob stated.
After all was said and done, Rob was able to clinch the fourth win of the weekend as he was only .020 seconds from the ROR class record.
“Well, I guess I have something to look forward to when we come back, laughed Rob. I really want to have my name next to that class record if I can.”
“As always, it’s great to work with Rob. He willingness to accept changes, adapt and having his ‘no excuse’ attitude makes for a great combination,” said Oscar. “Every track is different in its own way and learning the differences between every rider, their bike and each track we go to is difficult. Rob makes it easy by making the necessary changes to match the conditions. I really appreciate that. The Pirelli Superbike tires have proven they have the capability to be the best tire in the paddock. Rob shows this by being faster on them than he was on his previous tires with the same equipment.”
