“We are encouraged by a very successful test session at Miller Motorsports Park on May 2nd and 3rd, 2011. The Foremost Insurance Pegram Racing BMW S1000RR superbike finished up the test 3rd fastest overall and fastest time in the penultimate session on Wednesday. “The BMW S1000RR is such a great bike to start with we were really close in pre season testing but this last test has allowed us to fine tune the bike to be ready to fight for the win” Larry said. In all, twenty-one SuperBike riders attended the MMP test; the top-five overall were as follows: Josh Hayes, 1:50.333; Blake Young, 1:50.840; Larry Pegram, 1:51.215; Tommy Hayden, 1:51.255; Martin Cardenas, 1:51.351. Both riders tested extensively, focusing mainly on set-up and a different weight distribution. Claudio tested also a new Dunlop tire. Both concluded satisfied with the result, having definitely bettered their qualifying time. Claudio Corti, who on Saturday qualified 23rd suffering for the consequence of a crash, posted on the send test-day a best lap faster then the pole. Robertino Pietri did a huge step ahead as well, improving his qualifying time of one second and a half. This same set-up will be used since the first practice on French soil, next week. We all are pleased with it, and hope to receive a satisfactory answer since Friday’s first session, thus having all free-practices to prepare our bikes at the best for qualifying and race”.
