(December 1, 2010) Advanstar Communications Inc., today announced the expansion of its Powersports management team with the hiring of two senior executives from the powersports industry to continue the growth of its leading motorcycle media portfolio and strategy to invest in its key brands to deliver a more valuable experience for its consumer, dealer, and manufacturer customers. Kerry Graeber joins Advanstar as Brand Director of its event, print and digital media portfolio serving the powersports market. In this new role, Graeber will lead the product strategy and execution of the continued growth plans for the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows, Dealer Expo and Dealernews. Graeber brings significant industry and media experience to Advanstar, having held positions as VP and Director of Communications for AMA Pro Racing and at American Suzuki Motor Corporation, where he was responsible for advertising and brand development of Suzuki automotive, motorcycle and ATV product lines. Jim Moore recently joined Advanstar as Sales Director of the Powersports Group where he leads the media sales strategy for all exhibit, sponsorship and advertising services across the company’s consumer and business-to-business media assets. Moore was most recently Director of Business Development and Sales for the American Motorcyclist Association and the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. Prior to his post at the AMA, Moore was Manager of Strategic Partnerships for Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc. (CART). Tracy Harris, currently VP of Advanstar’s Powersports Group, will assume wider responsibilities for Advanstar’s expo operations teams across the United States where she will build on the successful operations and customer service management approach she developed for the motorcycle events and apply this model across the corporation. Graeber and Moore will report directly to Danny Phillips, Advanstar Executive Vice President, who sees the expanded senior team as key to the continued development of a wider range of media services to the motorcycle industry. “The addition of Kerry Graeber and Jim Moore to our management team is a key part of our strategy to further develop our products in line with our customers’ sales and marketing needs. Tracy, Jim and Kerry are well respected industry professionals who, as a team, will help take our leading brands to the next level,” commented Phillips. “As we invest in and expand the International Motorcycle Shows and Dealer Expo and continue to secure tens of thousands of industry and consumer visitors to our digital and print platforms, I’m delighted that Kerry and Jim have chosen to join us. With the expansion of Tracy Harris’ service and operations role, and Kerry and Jim’s resume of experience and relationships, we are in a prime position to continue investing in our flagship brands, and expand our educational and digital offerings to better serve our customers.” Both Graeber and Moore will have assumed their posts ahead of Advanstar’s Long Beach International Motorcycle Show, December 17-19 at the Long Beach Convention Center, CA.
