More information regarding Michelin’s voluntary recall of some of its front tires is expected to come out early next week, according to Michelin North America Road Race Manager/Sales Manager Ron Wood, who spoke to Roadracingworld.com Sunday at Miller Motorsports Park, but here is what we know for now. Michelin is voluntarily recalling all Pilot Power and Pilot Power 2CT front tires, size 120/70-ZR17, that were manufactured in France. The same tires manufactured in Spain are perfectly fine, according to Wood. The location of manufacture is molded into the sidewall of the tires. The tires were shipped worldwide, but Wood said, “We got very few of them.” “I’m waiting to find out exactly what the procedure is,” continued Wood. “There will be information on exactly what to do coming out soon, by the first of the week. They will be replaced. The ones we’re talking about right now are the ones distributors have.” Asked if consumers who have the tires in question on their bikes should stop riding on them, Wood said that was part of the information he is waiting on.
